Before registering and joining the fun, here is the set of rules and guidelines to read up on:
Registering/Application Rules
If you plan to register as a canon character, please check the list of Canon Characters in the Character Application section of the boards to make sure that the character you wish to apply for is open. If they are up for grabs, you may reserve said character and then fill out the application, but if not, you will have to choose another character. However, if you wish to apply as an original character, disregard this step and just get to filling out the applicaton.
After you've finished filling out the application template, please post it in the appropriate sub-forum in the Character Application section, where it will be reviewed by the board staff.
If you register and do not post at least a partially complete application in at most one week after your date of registration, your account will deleted.
If your application gets accepted by the staff, we will move it into the appropriate accepted sub-forum in the Filing Cabnet But, if the staff sees one or more problems with your application, we will note them and leave the application as pending acception, so you have a chance to fix the application. If you don't fix it within a week, your application will be removed.
Character-Related Rules
The character limit, as of now, is at six character slots at the start.
The staff reserves the right to reject original characters if they are too overpowered, or if they are Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters. If you do not know what a Mary Sue/Gary Stu is, take the Mary Sue/Gary Stu litmus test to find out.
For Canons: If your character displays no special abilities in the books or movie, do not give them new powers in your application or somewhere down the line during roleplay.
Gameplay Rules!
The roleplaying style is literate, meaning that each of your in-character posts has to have a length of at least two to three paragraphs.
No godmodding/powerplaying is allowed here, or for those who aren't familiar with the terms, focus on controlling your own character, and not everybody else's.
Again, please don't make Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters. What's the fun in roleplaying with some perfect, pretty, rich person, when you can have imperfect and flawed characters like in the books and movie?
When it comes to Subspace, no one is allowed to enter unless they're brought in by Gideon, Ramona or Roxy, and ONLY by enterance or if they cross into your dreams. Also, Gideon is the only character with the power to manipulate Subspace.
Activity-Wise, try remain at a basic level of activity by posting at least two IC posts a week. If you fail to post two times a week without posting an excuse in the Leave of Absence subforum, you will receive a warning. If you fail to do it again, you will be banned. PLEASE REMAIN ACTIVE, PARTICULARLY IF YOU PLAY A CANON CHARACTER.
Scott Pilgrim is a comedy, so please do not try to make the RPG into some huge drama where Knives tries to kill herself over Scott, where Julie turns evil and tries to destroy Sneaky Dee's for no reason, and where Stephen Stills and Roxy fight each other to the death with zero motivation whatsoever. Try to maintain a good balance of comedy and drama in your posts.
Insert Coins Here is Rated PG-13. Don't post any sexual content that you wouldn't see inside the books and the movie. At the most, you can hint at any hanky panky, but that's about it.
Canon characters cannot be killed off...Except for The Evil Exes, since they'd still be coming back, but even then, you must have the players' permission before killing their characters off. OC's may be killed off as well, but again, only with permission from the appropriate player's.
